Stay alkaline for good health

 

 

 

Our body is designed to stay alkaline and will do whatever it takes to do this. All food we ingest influences our body pH level. By consuming acid-forming or acidic drinks and foods, like meat, cakes, pastries, coke or sugar our body is continuously fighting to neutralize the excessive acid and to retain pH balance level of 7.356 on the pH scale. Not exercising and continually having negative thoughts can impact on our pH level also.

A pH of 7.0 is neutral.  A pH below 7.0 is acidic.  A pH above 7.0 is alkaline.

Human blood pH should be slightly alkaline ( 7.35 - 7.45 ).  Below or above this range means symptoms and disease. 

An acidic pH can occur from, an acid forming diet, emotional stress, toxic overload, and/or immune reactions or any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients.  The body will try to compensate for acidic pH by using alkaline minerals.  If the diet does not contain enough minerals to compensate, a build up of acids in the cells will occur.

An acidic balance will:  decrease the body's ability to absorb minerals and other nutrients, decrease the energy production in the cells, decrease it's ability to repair damaged cells, decrease it's ability to detoxify heavy metals, make tumor cells thrive, and make it more susceptible to fatigue and illness.  A blood pH of 6.9, which is only slightly acidic, can induce coma and death.

What is alkaline food?

  

An alkaline food is a food that makes you more alkaline after you've digested them. Not all raw food is alkalizing. And, some acid foods actually increase your pH.

For example, a lemon is acid when you eat it, but alkalizing after you've digested it.

 

 Why is it important for your body to stay alkaline?

You need to keep your body's pH level balanced in order to keep yeast, bacteria, viruses, cancer and other diseases out of your system.


An alkaline diet  helps to boost your energy levels, improve skin, reduce allergies and enhance mental clarity.

The process of restoring your body to a balanced alkaline-acid pH level  begins with proper diet and nutrition.

Once pH balance is achieved, the body will reduce to a healthy weight. When the acidic environment is eliminated, fat cells will cease to form plus the remaining fat in the body  is no longer needed to store acid wastes so just melts away. An alkaline diet will restore ph and reward you with good health, vitality and longevity.

Symptoms of a pH imbalance

  •  overweight                          fatigue
  •  health conditions              allergies
  •  arthritis                                acne
  •  diabetes                              cardiovascular damage,
  •  weight gain                         obesity
  •  premature aging                osteoporosis
  •  and joint pain                     loss of sex drive
  •  low energy                         mouth and stomach ulcers

There are 3 different types of alkaline foods

: high alkaline

: alkaline

: low alkaline

 The high alkaline is the food with the least sugar and the lowest glycemic level.  Although all three are alkaline, the low alkaline is borderline on being acidic and should be limited. According to most alkaline charts, the following are some of the best alkaline forming foods:

Vegetables:

High alkaline: Vegetable juices, parsley, raw spinach, broccoli, celery, garlic and barley grass.

Alkaline: Green beans, lima beans, carrots, beets, lettuce and zucchini.

Fruits:

High alkaline: Dried Figs and raisins

Alkaline: Dates, black currant, grapes, papaya, kiwi, berries, apples and pears.

Nuts and Seeds:

Alkaline: Hazelnuts and almonds.

Beverages:

High alkaline: Herb teas and lemonade (sweetened with stevia).

Alkaline: Green tea.
